Quarantine: A Good Time to Talk to Your Soul

    in Pandemic Times

I know this sounds a little strange but we must learn to bring ourselves into submission to the Word of God.

Listen to what David said: "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him" (Psalms 62:5 KJV).

The book of Psalms is amazing, anyone desiring a closer walk with God should read the Psalms often. In it, you will find the full spectrum of human emotion, the height of joy, to the depths of despair even to the point of desiring to die.

Many times when crazy, sinful, and hurtful thoughts come to us we may think we are the only ones that ever had these thoughts and emotions. This could be very damaging to a person's life. I believe it would be fair to say that David had more troubles in his life then many of us put together, but here we find one of the keys to David's success.

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him." During whatever trouble or hardship David was going through, he would remind himself to wait on God. He always expected God to come through and direct his steps. If you are anxious and worried about the present situation, sickness, financial tragedy, I encourage you, read psalms 62, and tell your soul, "God's got this."
